The Bug Sweeps staff are the most experienced TSCM professional in New Zealand. Our leadership team includes:

Graham Aylett, dip. Policing

Graham has over 25 years’ experience in investigations and is a qualified REI TSCM expert.

He is an ex-Detective Sergeant of the New Zealand Police and an ex-Detective Sergeant of the Metropolitan Police in London, England. He has over 20 years policing service in a Detective capacity based at New Scotland Yard. Graham was a lead investigator of the London Terrorist Bombings of 7 July 2005 and the subsequent investigation for those responsible for the attempted bombing of the London Transport system on 21 July 2005. As case officer to this investigation his tenacity led to the successful conviction of 16 terrorists who are now serving an imprisonment period in excess of 450 years. His role in this enquiry led to Judge’s Commendation for his outstanding professionalism, commitment and dedication to duty.

He has direct TSCM experience in sweeps for numerous New Zealand corporates over the past 10 years.

Daniel Toresen, MSc in Security Management

Daniel whose 25 years’ experience includes numerous high-level security reviews including a National Security Review for Coca-Cola Amatil NZ, security reviews of James Hardie sites Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane and Philippines, Strategic security review of Mainfreight Auckland. He has direct TSCM experience in regular sweeps for numerous New Zealand Corporate Organisations.

Daniel holds a Master of Science, Security Management, University of Leicester, United Kingdom, February 2000 and is a Certified Fraud Examiner, ACFE, Austin, Texas, USA, February 1998.

Mike Gillam, dip. Policing, CFE

Mike brings excellent investigation skills, with the ability to relate effectively with people from a diverse range of ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Mike has a proven covert and overt investigation track record in many areas of the investigation industry. Training and practical experience in the New Zealand Police provided Mike with a solid understanding of a wide range of investigative techniques and human behavioural concepts. His management of complex criminal and civil cases results in a high level of client satisfaction, including countless successful criminal prosecutions and dismissals.

Mike is a member of the ACFE, The New Zealand Institute of Professional Investigators, Council of International Investigators, and World Association of Detectives.

Jacob Toresen, LLB

Jacob has 4 years’ experience as a Private Investigator, and is a qualified TSCM expert.  In 2019, Jacob completed the Countermeasures Core Concepts Training course with Research Electronics International (REI) in Tennessee, United States.  Jacob has direct TSCM experience in bug sweeps for numerous New Zealand and international corporate organisations over the past 3 years.  He has been trained in both physical searching and the use of specialist detection devices such as the ORION and the ANDRE.

Jacob also holds a Bachelor of Laws from AUT University.
